                    Sea To The Green

Last meeting: EANA met on Sunday, September 22 at 3 PM at 1 Roxbury Road

Actions update since August 31 meeting

bulletEANA president spoke at Planning Committee meeting of the Common Council on Sept. 5 supporting reconsideration of Village District designation for East Avenue.  The committee voted to send a letter to the Planning Commission so that it could be readdressed
bulletCertified letter received by EANA president on Sept. 11, sent by the attorney of the owner of 89B Strawberry Hill Avenue. Letter is requesting retraction of our position that the Contractor's Yard is incompatible with our Residential B neighborhood. EANA continues to work with City Hall Depts. and officials to find a solution acceptable to the area residents.
bulletEANA contacted City Scan Coordinator to set up scan in area of the Green.  Tentative date will be Friday, Sept. 20 at 1 PM.
bulletCity Scan of the Green area rescheduled for Thursday Sept. 26 at 1 PM.  We will meet on East Wall Street at the Green.

bulletMission statement for EANA to be formalized
bulletSpeed bumps on 9 streets to be placed this fall, Myrtle Street will be done next year when the street is paved
bulletRent-A-Cop by the TTD for traffic patrol for speeders possible.  Chief Rilling will contact us next week about it
bulletPolice Commission/Traffic Authority meets monthly and is a good place for residents that have traffic problems on their street to find solutions.  Discussion of a recent Traffic Authority meeting where Pine Hill Ext. was on the agenda and residents attended and were able to discuss the situation on their street
bulletBoat Show traffic problems this weekend.  It was noted that the flashing amber lights at intersections, without police officers present, created backed up traffic for residents trying to drive off their streets.  Before next year EANA will take our concerns to the proper authorities
bulletCandidates Forums sponsored by the League of Women Voters scheduled for Sept 30 and Oct 20
bulletIncreasing membership discussed
bulletPlans for an event sponsored by EANA. Events Committee will meet on Monday, October 7 at 7 PM at 52 First Street
